Blake Gentry - I want May 68'.

Crystal R. said...

As requested, I am specifying a subtopic/focus for sexuality. I will be discussing, analyzing and providing argumentation for/against polyamory/monogamy.

I'm going to say gangs with a focus on the feud between the Bloods and the Crips. This could change at any point but the video really got the juices flowing on Tuesday.

I choose Dave Zirin

Want to write about the aspects of basic needs not being met and how this fuels the gangs to continue. Will discuss how housing, employment, education, food, etc. could change the face of south central!!

I choose Mark Plotkin and his work in the Amazon

Michael said...

Emily--thanks for introducing me to someone new, looking up Plotkin's work I feel the need to ask you how you would see his work fitting into Peace and Conflict Studies?

I think I am going to do something about the propaganda and dramatizing of wars through the media, I'm going to use personal examples from military friends that I have, as well as the story of Macaroni Jack and the York Massacre to show contrast between what is factual and what the government/mass media want us to hear.

(this is tentative, I'm between this and the conflict of coal/non-coal and mountain top removal in appalachia where I'm from, but I feel it would be hard to find information about this.)--Austin Maggard
