On the Day After the Elections

To the rapturous Democrats, sorry to piss on your parade, but as an independent citizen I would just like you to know that the only reason you got these votes was because the other option was unthinkable, please don't let this all go to your head and see if you can do something positive for a change, I'm skeptical, and probably will soon be ranting about your mistakes/abuses, but for the moment I will remain hopeful ... so back to the celebration and here's a dedication to get you started:

Yeah Yeah Song by The Flaming Lips

If you could blow up the world with the flick of a switch
Would you do it?
If you could make everyobody poor just so you could be rich
Would you do it?
If you could watch everybody work while you just lay on your back
Would you do it?
If you could take all the love without fiving any back
Would you do it?
And so we cannot know ourselves or what we'd really do...

With all your power
With all your power
With all your power
What would you do?

If you could make your own money and then give it to everybody
Would you do it?
If you knew all the answers and could give it to the masses
Would you do it?
No no no no no no are you crazy?
It's a very dangerous thing to do exactly what you want
Because you cannot know yourself or what you'd really do

With all your power
With all your power
With all your power
What would you do?

"You Can't Bring Me Down" by Suicidal Tendencies

What the hell's going on around here?

First off-let's take it from the start
Straight out-can't change what's in my heart
No one-can tear my beliefs apart, you can't bring me

You ain't-never seen no one like me
Prevail-regardless what the cost might be
Power-flows inside of me, you can't bring me

Never-fall as long as I try
Refuse-to be a part of your lie
Even-if it means I die, you can't bring me

    You...can't...bring...me...down!

Who the hell you calling crazy? You wouldn't know what crazy was
If Charles Manson was eating fruit loops on your front porch....

    Time out-let's get something clear
I speak-more truth than you want to hear
Scapegoat-to cover up your fear, you can't bring me

You ain't-never seen so much might
Fight for-what I know is right
What up-you got yourself a fight, you can't bring me

    Stand up-we'll all sing along
    Together-ain't nothin' as strong
Won't quit-we ain't in the wrong, you can't bring me

    You...can't...bring...me...down!

Bring me down-you can't bring me down!
Bring me down-you can't bring me down, no!
Bring me down-you can't bring me down!
Bring me down-you can't bring me down, you can't bring me down!

    Tell them what's up Rocky!

    You...can't...bring...me...down!

Bring me down-you can't bring me down!
Bring me down-you can't bring me down, no!
Bring me down-you can't bring me down!
Bring me down-you can't bring me down, you can't bring me down!

So why you trying to bring me?
Well you can't bring me down...No, no, no, no
Can't bring me down....No, no, no, no, no, no
Can't bring me down....No, no, no, no, no, no
Can't bring me down....No, no, no, no, no, no
So why you trying to bring?
Well you can't bring me down

Just cause you don't understand what's going on don't mean it don't make no sense
And just cause you don't like it, don't mean it ain't no good
    And let me tell you something;

Before you go taking a walk in my world
You better take a look at the real world
Cause this ain't no Mister Roger's Neighborhood

Can you say "feel like shit"?
Yea maybe sometimes I do feel like shit
I ain't happy 'bout it, but I'd rather feel like shit than be full of shit!

And if I offended you, oh I'm sorry...
But maybe you need to be offended
But here's my apology and one more thing...fuck you!

    Cos you...can't...bring...me...down!

Bring me down-you can't bring me down!
Bring me down-you can't bring me down, no!
Bring me down-you can't bring me down!
Bring me down-you can't bring me down!
Bring me down-you can't bring me down, no!
Bring me down-you can't bring me down, no!
Bring me down-you can't bring me down, you can't bring me down!

    Can't bring me down!
    Can't bring me down!
    Can't bring me down!

    Suicidal!

I guess I like it because of all the years of feeling crazy because I think differently, then after butting my head against the wall for so long I tried to submerge my dis-ease, silencing myself and repressing my distaste for things as they are, pure psychic suicide--a friend of mine helped me bust out of it by pointing out that I was beginning to talk in a monotone and I was feeling zoned out. No more ;) I'm back to my ol' cranky, confrontation and contentious self.

  5. Kojak, taste is subjective... per your other comment to respond to your stories I'll just say that censorship may not be the problem.
