Knock: Eco-Literature

Knock is a literary arts magazine published at Antioch University Seattle.

- KNOCK Ecoliterature and Green Art Contest -

Submission Deadline: April 23rd

The intention of this contest is to exhibit ecoliterature and green art, especially that which connects the current ecological crisis with the literary and artistic
conventions of narrative crisis. We invite submissions which consider any ecological or environmental issues and subjects, such as the cultural 'construction' of nature, the environment as healer, the place and rights of animals, ecofeminism, environmental politics, gender and nature, perspectives of nature formed by race and ethnicity, appropriate uses of technology, ecopsychology, remediation, or green building.

The overall winner will receive $50, 2 free copies of KNOCK, and be published in the fall 2005 issue (#2/2).

The winner in each category will be published in the fall issue and receive 2 free copies.

Categories: Poetry, Fiction, Nonfiction, Art, and Cartoons.

Manuscripts will not be returned, but recycled. Notification of winners will take place by August 2005.

Guidelines: Include your name, category, and "Ecoliterature / Green Art Contest Submission" on your cover letter. Include a SASE for notification of results (email address may substitute). Submissions can be made by email and regular mail (if by regular mail, please submit 2 copies of each piece.

Limit prose to 2500 words; poetry to 5 poems, or 10 pages total; art & cartoons should be 2-D B&W and limited to 5 pieces.
