Global Notes: Local musician teaches at Haitian school, learns about underexposed Haitian composers
Worldview (WBEZ: Chicago Public Media)
Tom Clowes is a graduate student at Roosevelt University's Chicago Conservatory of Performing Arts. For the past several summers, he’s taught at Port-au-Prince’s Holy Trinity Music School. Before the earthquake, it served as Haiti's de facto national orchestra.
Clowes talks about his experiences teaching music in Haiti, and he performs some Haitian compositions in our Jim and Kay Mabie Performance Studio.
