On the Killing of Osama Bin Laden

I don't really need to post anything as the reports are everywhere.

I would like to say that I am sickened by the American triumphalism. Frat Boys running down the street cheering USA, USA, USA! What morally bereft people -- what does this prove.... what a waste of human lives and material resources!

Bin Laden is dead. Now that Bin Laden is dead and there are no weapons of mass destruction, bring the troops home. It's time to work on the economy.

"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that" -- Martin Luther King, Jr

the MLK Jr. quote seems to be a forgery--but it still is appropriate (just don't quote it as MLK Jr.
