Jonathan Rosenbaum: Art and Information

"Furthermore, notwithstanding Bloom's caveat that art doesn't make people into better citizens, I would argue that information can on occasion do precisely that and that art and information never can and never should be viewed as wholly independent entities." (xiv)

not into better citizens but i think Durer was right when he said: "If a man devotes himself to art, much evil is avoided that happens otherwise if one is idle."
