Rally for LexTran & Voter Fair: Sunday, October 16th

Central Kentucky Voter '04 invites you to a ** Rally for LexTran & Voter Fair **

Food, Music, Games, Speakers

WHEN:
Saturday October 16
Rally: 1:30 - 2:00 p.m.
Fair: 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

WHERE:
Phoenix Park--In front of the Central Library in Lexington--Corner of Main Street & Limestone

HELP SPREAD THE WORD:
Download, print, & post the rally flyer

DETAILS:
Bring signs and friends. Show those most effected by cuts in public transportation, Lexington's working poor, handicapped, and elderly, that you care. Join us as we rally to urge our fellow citizen to vote 'YES' on the referendum.

We believe that public transportation is a basic social justice and environmental issue. Without good public transportation, low-income, handicapped, and elderly Lexingtonians will find it difficult to get to jobs, schools, and medical care. In addition, good public transportation reduces traffic congestion, reduced fossil fuel consumption, and air pollution.

Following the rally, stay for our voter fair. Enjoy food & join us in games, as we educate one another about the issues that face us: public transportation, public ownership of the water company, the marriage amendment, the living wage and more.

All voters are invited. In particular, we have invited the 1400 Fayette county voters who CK Voter '04 has registered.

In the event of rain, the event may take on a very different shape, possibly a march to the shelter on the Transit Center, then our speakers and a smaller Voter Fair.
