Defenders of Wildlife: Earthday Virtual March on Washington

There are a lot of politicians here in Washington who think you don't care that the Senate just voted to allow oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, America's greatest wildlife sanctuary.

*Prove them wrong. Join the first ever Earth Day Virtual March. On April 22nd we will mark the 35th anniversary of Earth Day. Working with Care2, the largest online environmental and conservation community, Defenders Action Fund wants to mount a massive online national protest Earth Day Virtual March against the
Senate vote, and other policies that threaten to harm wildlife, its
habitat and the environment we share.

Signing up will only take a few minutes of your time. MARCH! You won't have to come to Washington. Or stand in the rain.

As you join the march an email will be created for your two Senators, praising or criticizing them depending upon how they voted. It will urge that the Refuge be put off limits to drilling through the Arctic Wilderness Protection Act. All these emails will be delivered to your Senators on Earth Day, with copies to the President and your Representative.

And if you can on Friday April 22nd, we're also hoping that you'll make a follow-up phone call or send a fax to your elected representatives. We'll email you a reminder and tell you how. The impact of these emails, phone calls and faxes will resonate from the West Wing of the White House through the House and Senate Office Buildings.
