On Friday, April 24th, beginning at 11 a.m. in the Capitol Rotunda in Frankfort, the Kentucky Arts Council is hosting an induction ceremony for Kentucky’s new Poet Laureate, Gurney Norman. Other Kentucky poets and writers, including Richard Taylor and Jane Gentry Vance, will also read and a reception on the mezzanine will follow the induction.
Let your students know about this event—even if they can’t attend, it will help raise awareness about Kentucky’s Poet Laureate Program and Kentucky’s rich literary heritage.
