*****************************************

The Kentucky Film Lab (KFL) is now accepting applications for its fall Filmmakers Studio to be held October 13-15 in Louisville, Kentucky, during the 2006 IdeaFestival™. KFL is a non-profit program dedicated to creating and supporting a community of filmmakers and multimedia artists in Kentucky.

The Studio will offer two tracks: screenwriting and production, staffed by industry professionals from Hollywood, New York and Kentucky. Through interactive sessions, panel discussions and hands-on learning experiences involving successful film professionals and educators, participants will gain an overview and solid understanding of the critical elements involved in successful film development and production.

In the production track, participants will explore the essential elements of film production (directing, shooting, editing, etc.) and collaborate to design and shoot a short (three-five minute) film. A group of select industry advisors will work with the participant teams as they complete their production.

The screenwriters track will be led by working screenwriters and instructors from the prestigious University of Southern California School of Cinema/Television. In the screenwriting tract, session participants will explore and work through all of the critical elements involved in writing a successful screenplay…from story design and structure to selling their work. Interactive discussions, scene reviews and writing sessions round out the track.

Space is limited so you are encouraged apply early.
