Student Montage: "Who Is In My Circle of Responsibility?"

(This moved me... and inspired me)

Who Is In My Circle of Responsibility?
Student Montage
Facing History and Ourselves

Twenty one students participated in a Facing History student symposium titled “Who is in My Circle of Responsibility” on two Saturdays in March. These students from Another Course to College, Brookline High School, Champion Charter School, Lexington High School, Swampscott High School, and Woburn Memorial High School discussed the responsibilities of citizenship in the 21st century, with a particular focus on how media can influence the choices of individuals and groups. Students’ exploration then moved to questions of prevention—and what responsibilities they may have when faced with the current genocide happening in Darfur. The students hope this will be an activism piece that will encourage others to think about the reasons we act and don't act in the case of Darfur and beyond.
