Ed McClanahan Reading of O the Clear Moment (University of Kentucky: Oct 8)
Ed McClanahan Reading At UK Lexington writer Ed McClanahan will read from his new collection of autobiographical stories, O the Clear Moment, on Wednesday, October 8 at 5 pm, on the 18th floor of the Patterson Office Tower, on the University of Kentucky campus.The reading, sponsored by the UK English Department, will mark the beginning of a book tour which will take McClanahan to Nashville, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, and New York.
Publishers Weekly, in a starred review, praises McClanahan’s “enormously personable style” and calls O the Clear Moment “playful, self-deprecating, and wickedly sharp.” A number of the stories in the book are centered in and around Maysville, McClanahan’s home town. Ed McClanahan is also the author of The Natural Man, Famous People I Have Known, and three other books. His work has appeared in Esquire, Playboy, and Rolling Stone, and he has taught at Stanford University, the University of Montana, UK, and elsewhere.
